Disappointing evening
Reviewed by: Matilda, 2023/11/11Pick-up was perfect, complimentary Mai Tai was lovely, but the sunset was hard to savour in the middle of queuing, collecting food and eating! The food was okay.
We chose the trip for the sunset and traditional dancing, but the dancing was evidently lovely BUT hard to see as the girls were not raised up and one needed to look round other people and tables.
We had a nice wander to the top of the boat which was great! BUT the ‘entertainment’ was done by a guitarist who couldn’t sing above a certain pitch and girls who followed his very out of tune singing. I suppose the other passengers got up and took part, as they felt that was expected but we found that part excruciating!
Overall not worth the money.

It is okay
Reviewed by: Jerms, 2023/11/10Went on a Friday, the boat was crowded and the seating was shoulder to shoulder. I could not really see the show from where I was seated I just had to listen to it and get a glimpse whenever I could. The fireworks were nice but EVERYONE on the boat was trying to see them so you have to get out of your seat early to get a good spot to see.

Enjoyable
Reviewed by: Ron , 2023/10/29Overall an enjoyable sunset cruise but a bit rushed boarding the boat. We were served and eating our meal while the boat was still in dock. Our meal was the first out and surrounding tables took a while before theirs came out. Our crab leg shells were soft and impossible to crack open. Otherwise the food was enjoyable. Entertainment was fun and lively. I would recommend this experience.

Great staff, show, dinner!

A very good buffet with carved roast beef, delicious chicken and fish, everything. Fireworks show a bit difficult. In order to see it well people had to run to one side of the ship, not only tilting the ship a bit but making it even more difficult for people who didn't want to dash to the side to see. This was only a minor observation.

Overall ok

Star of Honolulu
Reviewed by: Juan Alvarado , 2023/10/22The perfect sunset cruise! Beautiful view of Honolulu. Great buffet and great crew. Great live music and Luau performance. Nice experience to share with family and friends.
Dinner food was superb also, you get a free drink (Mai Tai) on the house.
The top deck is a great spot for pictures and videos of sunset and Waikiki Beach.
We had such a Great time.

A night to remember

Sunset Dinner Cruise Review

1. I booked sit down dinner, not buffet, overall food presentation look good, taste good too. Drinks are good too.
2. Service is just so so, the server for my table never gets me things I asked for, example, refill water, lemon, and my second glass of drink, I understand it's a busy task and have to serve all plates and take finishing plates away, and each server takes care of couple tables, but this should not be used as an excuse for service quality.
3. The show is good, but it's kind short, I wish we can see the full stage of Luau show, but the center stage is pretty small, so in order to accommodate every guest, they always have couple dancers on each side,

Very nice dinner & entertainment on Star of Honolulu

Good menu!

We really liked walking around the boat and the observation deck on the top floor of the boat was my favorite. There were lounge chairs on the top deck so it was the perfect place to catch sunset.

-You can do menu substitutions (ex. vegan, fish instead of steak, etc.) if you request it 24-hours prior

The BEST dinner menu
Reviewed by: Yes to Hawaii, 2023/08/25Absolutely LOVED this dinner menu. We opted for the Friday Fireworks cruise with window seating. And it was worth it! I had done the other menus before (Buffet, Casual, & Deluxe) so I was looking forward to try out the fine dining menu.
The only not-so-great thing was the time it took for us to get any beverages. Our waiter passed us every time. We waited and waited - everyone else around us was being served. Finally, we flagged someone down but even they also took a long time so we had to flag a 2nd person.
The food was so delicious. Would definitely recommend the menu! This options also comes with premium drink tickets. We had mocktails which were delicious.

Okay but way too busy and disappointing entertainment.

Staff worked hard, tried to keep things moving. Sunset was almost missed due to service. Noisy entertainment. Fireworks were short and low key, and hard to see with packed walkways. We were some what disappointed overall and regreted not going on a smaller and cheaper vessel.

The show is impressive

Amazing Cruise

Sorry but not good.

Wife and I felt this excursion was way too long. Especially being on the water got boring and we love the water. Sorry but the entertainment was that exiting. We were just counting down the minutes to get off the ship. The staff was nice and accommodating but the overall feeling of wanting to stay on the ship died off after the first hour on board.
